CLINIC BUSINESS SVCS SUPERVISOR
SUMMARY:
The Clinic Business Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the various aspects
of medical insurance entitlements and patient billing service operations within the Patient
Business Services Department. This position is governed by state and federal laws and
institution policy.
TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises patient accounts and administrative support staff personnel by interviewing,
hiring, training, making work assignments and evaluating job performance.
Assists in long-range planning for department, develops policies and procedures, and
implements program changes.
Coordinates processing of patient insurance and patient billings, monitors pre-certification
of insurance, collections, quality of customer services, and data management processes.
Serves as liaison between hospital and insurance agencies, computer support departments
and customers and researches technical manuals to keep abreast of technical processing
advancements.
Handles problem cases and referrals from management, provides information to patients
and outside agencies and represents work units at various meetings.
Compiles various reports and statistical data required by management.
Performs other duties as assigned.
